Hello! Thanks for coming to this website and seeking out counseling! I have been in the mental health field for the past 7 years in a variety of different roles. I have found that my true passion lies in helping others discover their inner strength and resilience to get through life's toughest challenges. As someone who has overcome addiction and mental health challenges, I blend my life experience with professional training as a counselor to ensure that you get the strength based support that you need to switch from surviving to thriving. I love getting the privilege of walking alongside others on their journey. Sometimes the process of healing is painful but I have seen time and time again that people are stronger than they realize. I am here to offer a safe space to discuss anything thats on your mind, process challenges, and discuss solutions.
Personally, I'm really passionate about health and wellness and know how interconnected mental and physical health are. I love baking, spending time with family, and friends, laughing, spending time outside, and going to church! Please reach out with any questions and to see if we would be a good fit to proceed with counseling :)
I have a vast amount of experience working with complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), childhood abuse, various forms of trauma, mood disorders, and compulsions. If you still feel hampered by the past growing up in a chaotic home rife with various forms of abuse then I might be a good fit for you.
In my career as a clinician I have worked in intense settings addressing substance use issues and mood disorders.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and EMDR-DeTUR (urge reduction for compulsions). My style as a therapist is interactive, creative, thoughtful, empathetic, and above all compassionate towards you! My work with you is tailored towards the strengths you already possess. I offer a down to earth approach for you to explore your thoughts and emotions.
